It can be very difficult to pick the right foundation for your skin type. And yes there is a lot of brand on the market. First of all I think it’s important to know what the different foundation does for your skin and then afterwards decide what kind of look you are going for:
Tinted moisturisers are designed to be more lightweight than a liquid foundation. It’s important to note that the coverage they provide may not be enough for some skin types. While the product does a great job of evening the skin tone, it may not completely hide blemishes or other imperfections. It gives the skin a beautiful and natural look.
I personally prefer this type of foundation in the summer time.
BB creams (means beauty or blemish creams) are very similar to tinted moisturisers. In addition to hydrating and evening out skin tones, BB creams also treat the skin with antioxidants or other anti-aging ingredients, plus offer broad-spectrum SPF. Again this a great product for the natural skin finish.
Liquid foundation is probably the most common type of foundation out there. The consistency can vary and can give and lighter or thicker coverage. This type of foundation many people would know as a “normal” foundation. But again here there is a lot of different options for all different skin types. If you have oily skin there is some very great options of liquid foundations for that. But there is also for moisturising ones for dry skin. Often Liquid foundation have more coverage and less natural than tinted moisturisers and bb creams. But this all depends on the brand.
Cream foundation is a type of makeup base that uses a thick, cream formulation to provide good coverage and an even finish. This type of foundation usually provides excellent coverage for skin flaws and discolouration. People with dry or normal skin may prefer cream foundation, while those with oily skin may not do well with the heavier texture of most cream formulas. Proper application of cream foundation is important, as it can look caky or uneven when applied incorrectly. Often it is a good idea do use a brush for application.
Mineral powder foundation
Mineral powder foundation is quickly becoming one of the most popular makeup choices for many reasons. Mineral makeup is a natural cosmetic product, and many brands use only hypoallergenic, earth-friendly ingredients. Mineral makeup offers professional results, easy application and can help keep your skin healthy. With a powder mineral foundation you can easily even out the skin tone, but still keep it looking. This one is one of my favourite products for everyday use, as it feels natural on the skin, but still look glowing all day.
This is the liquid alternative to the classic Mineral Powder Foundation. The formulation gives a even, shiny, glowing complexion.
Many would say that this kind of foundation is better for the skin than other regular products. I do believe that these days the high end brand are using good ingredients as well. Many brands are making their products free from parabens, preservatives and fragrances, so even if you are having sensitive skin and looking for a matte look, there is still many alternatives.
